short but cute!

Clone Me a Lover - Rosalie Redd
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book. Oh so deliciously short!! Cute too! Those are my overriding feelings upon finishing this book. Angelo Thirteen is found drifting in space after his ship is damaged. Elle is on a mission to sell some ore to raise funds to rescue her brother. Can a clone built without emotion find the love he craves? Can Elle find a place in her heart for someone other than her brother and her ship? Like I said, short!! 100 pages, little over an hour's reading time for me, but such a lovely way to spend that hour!! I've had a little run of science fiction books, and they can, at times, be a little too overpowering with the technology and stuff, but NOT so here. Just enough science, for Angelo is a clone. We get just enough for why he is Thirteen, and how he came to be craving the things he really shouldn't have. Just enough history, for Angelo and Elle and her brother. Just enough drama, for Elle is trying to keep her brother out of the prison mines. And a little twist at the end that I did not see coming! I do enjoy the way Ms Redd spins her tales, such easy, well rounded, well written tales! I wonder will there be more of these clones that aren't supposed to feel, but do?? A short review for a short book, but a VERY enjoyable book at that. 4 stars. **same worded review will appear elsewhere**
